Still gonna do it. My novel began as a NaNoWriMo project, formed from an idea I conjured after crying a lot at work one day back in November 2017. It felt like a big decision: This is my next novel. And while I've spun and fizzled and crafted and abandoned and picked it back up and dusted it in glitter and forgotten it, I'm going to go into it. NaNoWriMo is one of those things that glues writers together, a shorthand for getting it all down. I like writing in sprints, I like long, lazy winter afternoons at a cafe drinking too much tea and writing melodramatic break-ups over-and-over. Starting with the witchery of fall, winter is really the writers' season, the smell of antique books, the scratch of a Blackwing Palamino in the perfect notebook.
