Lisa literally deconstructs the AR-15, the most common gun for shooting large numbers of people within a short period of time. A weapon of war.

I am vehemently, militantly, deeply anti-guns. I always have been. This essay on Medium by my friend Lisa Schamess takes apart the AR-15, a schematic, a contemplation. I love it so much.

“I can’t get over how delicate a trigger is. It has to be, I suppose, to be precise. Unnamed in this picture, when everything else around it labeled, it is the simplest and thus most profound part. Everything else has been created to make sure it works each time. The other parts protect and amplify its effectiveness.”—Lisa Schamess
